About us

The Art Over the Centuries Foundation was established in 2018 and operates in the fields of art, education, and culture. Our long-term mission is the development of the plastic and visual arts and the support of independent artists in Bulgaria.

Since 2022, Art Over the Centuries Foundation has been the organizer of the first international Biennial of Contemporary Art in Bulgaria, which has featured artists from Bulgaria, the USA, Germany, the Czech Republic, Turkey, North Macedonia, and the Netherlands, showcasing over 240 works by 120 Bulgarian and international artists.

In 2023, the foundation won the project "The First 7 – Contemporary Visual Forms of the Balkans", under the Mobility component of the Municipality of Plovdiv. As part of the project, a representative exhibition of the Biennale was held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Bitola, North Macedonia. The project was implemented with the financial support of the Municipality of Plovdiv.

In 2025, the foundation will once again present the forum for contemporary art on the international art scene at the Pavel Șușară Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest.

At an institutional level, our team collaborates with strategic partners such as the Cultural Center at the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Bitola (North Macedonia), the Pavel Șușară Museum of Contemporary Art (Romania), Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, Agricultural University – Plovdiv, the Union of Plovdiv Artists, the Union of Bulgarian Artists – Sliven, Elysium Cultural Center, Romfea Gallery, the “The Unknown” Association, and others.
